THE CONGRESS WORKSHOPS INCREASE!  THE VARIETY KEEPS GROWING!
 
The THEMES are:
Kejiwaan Workshops, National Projects, Nurturing Members Support, How To Start A Project, and Creativity.
 
KEJIWAAN WORKSHOPS
 
° Kejiwaan Workshops will come out of the interests of the members at the congress. Members attending the Helpers Kejiwaan Day June 29, and members attending the Kejiwaan Day June 30, can help create workshop topics.
The national helpers’ goal is to have helpers available for all members' kejiwaan needs, to help us deepen our latihans.
 
NATIONAL PROJECTS – LET’S DO IT!

The never-boring Aliman from Hawaii, now our national Outreach Chair, challenges us to think outside the box about outreach! Re-conceptualize Outreach via discussion, role play & testing.

Educators  network, appreciate our work, relax together, support each other.

Making Peace Not War: What can we do as teachers and teacher educators to promote peace in our community and the world?
 
° Therapists Available – Malama McNeil
Practitioners of healing arts, especially hands-on modalities such as massage, craniosacral, acupressure, Reiki, energy balancing, esthetician services, etc., are cordially invited to make their services available to members attending Congress 2006. Sign-up sheets are at  the registration area (see Myrna Moyer) so that members desiring services at Congress and practitioners can find one another, and schedule their time together at their convenience. Some space has been set aside for practitioners to share cooperatively, in consideration of a contribution (30% of fees collected) to Subud USA.  This space will be used for SIHA (Subud International Health Association) related workshops, networking and meetings as well.
 
° Healing Arts Practitioners Talk and Share – Malama McNeil
This will be an informal ‘networking and practice sharing’ session of ‘hands-on healers.’ 
 
° Introduction to Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement – Arthur Teichman
A movement class emphasizing kinesthetic awareness and connection of body parts.
 
° Make Your Dreams a Reality – Howard Richman
Learn specifics about moving yourself forward in your life.
 
° Strengthen Your Relationships – Halimah Bellows
Come experience some useful tools and techniques designed to increase positivity.
 
° Friends of Bill - Daily 12 step meetings
 
° Dance Your Rhythm, Sweat Your Prayers - Malama McNeil
Improvisational dance movement based on the work of Gabrielle Roth, whose “5 rhythm wave” provides excellent exercise and embodied practice of expressive presence, suitable for all, regardless of experience, ability or skill. Age 13 and up. Moms with babes in arms ok!
 
° Qigong: Mastery of Being in the Flow - Lama Somahanda Tantrapa
Introduction to the ancient art of energy work.
 
HOW TO START A PROJECT – LET’S DO IT!
 
° Teen Moms and More Projects – an SD workshop - Soraya Newell and other project developers share their secrets of how to make a project work. This is real “take home” practical information.
 
° Project Quest - an SD event - Lusijah Marx has invited us all to visit Project Quest’s new location in Portland, tour, see videos, a panel of persons living with breast cancer, speakers abut the HIV/AIDS program! Sign up at registration desk to assure yourself a ride! Sunday at 1:30pm.
 
° Sister, Sister - an SD workshop - Marie Baker and others
Growing Subud by Growing Yourself - How a visioning process began to enliven Subud Portland; how a Sister Group with Kinshasa, DRC was formed; fundraising & outreach in a real way.
 
° Tuning In - an SD Project - Emmanuel Williams
Hear heartwarming updates! An ever-growing arts education program based in Badger, CA, this is outreach and education at its hands-on best! You’ll learn more from their display and Power Point!
 
° My Neighborhood  - A SICA project - Hamidah Glasgow
A beautiful display (not a workshop) of art done by children from many countries, as they take part in this creative and healing arts project!

° AOMAA - Lucia Cargill & Halimah Brugger
AOMAA - Ibu foundation disaster relief in Indonesia 2005-2006
AOMAA now is working through local NGO projects in Indonesia and other countries in the developing world. Since the tsunami hit in Dec 2004, AOMAA has partnered with a group of young Indonesian professionals and volunteers. Together we have seen over 35,000 medical patients and over 55,000 people for psychosocial counseling and programs in Aceh Barat.
 
° Seven Circles & YES Quest – Doug Card
A PowerPoint presentation of the Seven Circles Project in Badger, CA and the YES Quest project and event that will take place there in July.
 
° SUBUD / Susila Dharma  tour of India - Beata Moreno & Lusijah Marx
This will be a visual presentation about our participation in a SUBUD tour of India, attendance at the Indian Congress and the tour of the SD projects there.
 
CREATIVITY - LET’S DO IT!
 
° Destination Imagination - Rosetta Narvaez - for middle school age, a journey of art science, teamwork, taking place on several days of the congress! Get involved in something exciting! ADULTS NEEDED to be coaches. TEENS NEEDED to play the challenge games, and be peer judges. Contact Rosetta Narvaez at 401-246-1451

° Hula Dancing – Laura Ramsey, P. Harris
Come learn the gentle joyous art of hula, and discover health, culture and expression through movement.
 
° Welcome All Writers - Lianne Card and Irena Olander
Writers, come and share your writings, write more… Reconnect with your deeper source using guided writing exercises in a safe and supportive environment.  Prompted by poetry and prose, we will keep the hand moving and share what emerges. All writers, whether experienced or new to the process, are welcome. Come and surprise yourself! Irena Olender and Lianne Card are offering this workshop.
 
° The Chocolate Truffles Workshop - Raphael Tedrow
He will teach you how to make chocolate truffles - you will DO IT! And EAT THEM!

° Swirly Crayon Melt Cards – an SD workshop. Maryka Ford and “Have Art, We’ll Travel” (Melinda Wallis) give you the opportunity to make a few beautiful cards to be mailed to children in various Susila Dharma Projects. DO try this at home!
